The Avon Band & Orchestra Boosters (ABOB) was established in 1995 with the purpose to support the Directors, Advisors and Assistants of Avon School District’s Band and Orchestra music programs in grades 6-12 to promote creative musical activity among the students.
Please join us TOMORROW, TUESDAY, October 13th at 7 PM at AMS for our ABOB monthly meeting. We will be meeting in ROOM 124 (NOTE this location is different than usual). This is where we review past ABOB activities, talk about current happenings, and discuss future events and needs. The meetings are open to any ABOB families and we welcome your participation.

For those who ordered a yard sign, they will be available for pick up outside of the ABOB meeting (Tuesday, October 13th, Avon Middle School room 124). General Meeting starts at 7:00, but you can pick up from 6:00-7:30. If you cannot make it on Tuesday, please email Heidi Carrion (hcarrion77@gmail.com) to arrange pickup.
Of the many ways we raise funds to support our band and orchestra students, the concession stand is our BIGGEST source of income. Ashley Davis, along with her team of concession stand managers, does an amazing job coordinating this effort.
Volunteering at the concession stand is a fun thing to do with friends and with your AMS and/or AHS student(s). The link below shows the upcoming shifts where more help is needed. We hope you'll consider volunteering.
In addition, we're looking for more concession stand managers and buyers. Please look at the attached flyer and consider reaching out to Ashley to get involved.
Two of our biggest (and most fun!) fundraising events are coming up, and both committees are looking for a few more hands to help plan!
Jingle Mingle – Saturday, December 12
Think holiday market meets mini concert: hot chocolate, donuts, a holiday tree raffle, local vendor shopping, and performances from our Jazz Bands and Wired! (our middle school rock orchestra). It's a festive morning, and planning it is just as fun — think decorating, organizing raffle trees, coordinating with local vendors and artists, and making the cafeteria feel like a holiday market. If you love the "party planning" side of things, this is your event.
Musical Mosaic – Saturday, February 20
A full day celebrating every single one of our bands and orchestras, grades 6–12, performing back-to-back in the PAC. It's one of the coolest days of the year — you get to watch our program's full range, from 6th grade beginners to Wind Symphony. Behind the scenes, the committee handles things like food, raffle basket coordination, decorations, and day-of set-up — a fun mix of creative and logistical work, and a great way to meet other band and orchestra families.
For both events, we need help with decorations, food, communications, set-up, and raffles — and vendors, for Jingle Mingle specifically. No experience required, just enthusiasm! Whether you can commit to a few planning meetings or just want to jump in closer to the event, we'd love to have you.

Forms were due last week. If your student still needs to turn in their forms, they can do so first thing tomorrow (Tuesday).
Items will be delivered to Avon Middle School approximately 4 weeks after the sale ends. Pickup instructions will follow closer to delivery.
